Access to the Public Records of the Wisconsin Supreme Court and Court of Appeals (WSCCA)

WELCOME to the Wisconsin Supreme Court and Court of Appeals Case Access system for the Internet.

WSCCA provides public access to the status of appeals filed with the Wisconsin Supreme Court and the Wisconsin Court of Appeals. Generally, this site includes appeals that were considered "Open" from the end of 1993 forward.
Please read this agreement prior to using WSCCA:
Please indicate that you have read the above and agree to the use of WSCCA subject to the above terms, and understand the limitations of the WSCCA database.

Accuracy: The official recordkeeper for the appellate courts is the Clerk of the Supreme Court and Court of Appeals. The information displayed on the WSCCA website is an exact copy of case information entered into the case management system by court staff. If you believe data displayed on this website is incorrect, you may contact the Clerk of the Supreme Court and Court of Appeals.

Briefs: Electronically filed (eFiled) briefs are available for filings made on or after July 1, 2009. Non-eFiled briefs from cases decided on or after July 2009 (318 Wis.2d – forward) are also available and scanned briefs will continue to be added over time.

Briefs that are not currently available can be requested through the Wisconsin State Law Library’s document order service or from the Clerk’s Office. Appendices, petitions for review and briefs from confidential case types are not available on WSCCA but can be requested.

Older briefs are available on the University of Wisconsin’s briefs database for published and unpublished case decisions appearing in 173 Wis. 2d (November 1992) through 317 Wis. 2d (June 2009).

Keyword Searching: Full-text searching for eFiled briefs is available through the ‘filed documents’ menu.

RSS Feeds: Some data presented on the WSCCA Web site is available through RSS feeds. For more information on RSS, how it works and how to subscribe to feeds, click here.
